Honor your commitments to mentorship sessions and respond to communications in a timely manner.

Guidelines for Mentors

Profile & Verification

  • Complete your profile with accurate information about your background and expertise
  • Maintain valid IIT verification through email domain or LinkedIn profile
  • Use a professional profile photo and write a clear, helpful bio
  • Keep your availability calendar updated and accurate

Mentorship Sessions

  • Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled sessions
  • Provide constructive, actionable advice based on your experience
  • Respect confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries
  • Follow up appropriately and provide additional resources when helpful

Communication

  • Respond to mentee requests within 48 hours
  • Be clear about your availability and areas of expertise
  • Provide honest feedback while being encouraging and supportive
  • Use the platform's messaging system for all communications
Guidelines for Mentees

Preparation & Engagement

  • Come prepared with specific questions and goals for each session
  • Research your mentor's background and expertise beforehand
  • Be punctual and present during mentorship sessions
  • Take notes and follow through on advice and action items

Respect & Appreciation

  • Respect your mentor's time and expertise
  • Provide feedback and updates on your progress
  • Express gratitude for the guidance you receive
  • Leave honest, constructive reviews after sessions

Professional Conduct

  • Maintain professional communication at all times
  • Don't request inappropriate favors or connections
  • Respect boundaries and don't overstep the mentorship relationship
  • Use insights responsibly and don't share confidential information
Prohibited Conduct

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited on IITx:

Harassment & Discrimination

  • Any form of harassment, bullying, or intimidation
  • Discrimination based on gender, race, religion, or background
  • Inappropriate or unwelcome personal advances
  • Offensive language or behavior

Misuse of Platform

  • Creating fake profiles or providing false information
  • Spamming or sending unsolicited promotional content
  • Attempting to circumvent platform fees or policies
  • Using the platform for non-mentorship purposes

Unethical Behavior

  • Sharing confidential or proprietary information
  • Requesting or offering inappropriate favors
  • Plagiarizing or misrepresenting others' work
  • Violating intellectual property rights

Platform Abuse

  • Attempting to hack or compromise platform security
  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
  • Manipulating ratings or reviews
  • Interfering with other users' experience
Reporting & Enforcement

How to Report Issues

If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines:

  • Use the "Report" button available on profiles and messages
  • Contact our support team at support@iitx.com
  • Provide specific details and evidence when possible
  • All reports are reviewed confidentially and promptly

Warning
First-time minor violations
Suspension
Repeated or moderate violations
Permanent Ban
Severe or repeated serious violations
